Andy Tseng, PhD

Assistant Professor

Andy Tseng, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. He earned his doctorate in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2015 and subsequently joined the department as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2019, he was promoted to Associate Research Scientist.

Dr. Tseng’s research focuses on computed tomography (CT) physics, system design and optimization, image reconstruction, and image quality assessment. He has developed advanced reconstruction algorithms for cone-beam CT, including approaches based on compressed sensing and deep learning. His current work includes the development of dual-energy cone-beam CT for image-guided interventions and a novel simultaneous bilateral breast CT system.

He has authored 15 peer-reviewed journal articles and continues to contribute to the advancement of CT imaging technologies.
